JD ecb2e3d8f3 fix(telemetry): stamp a compaction on entering the null window
Claude Code's tracker nulls recache_tokens_if_cold at a compaction or a tool-result clearing and only counts the expected rebuild at the next request, which also closes the window, so no report carried both and the old rule never fired. Stamp on the first warm null report after one that carried a value, carry it through idle re-reports and drop it at the next request; the readout now says "Context compacted at HH:MM" since a clearing opens the same window.

Also persist a changed report so a crash restores the latest one, rename the session field to statusLineExporter (statusLineTelemetry is the registry capability) and document its values, word the stake as re-cached, move the readout block above the SSE staleness heading, and drop keep-warm mentions until it lands.

JD 551a7f2792 feat(telemetry): read out Claude Code's prompt cache state per session
Claude Code's statusline has carried a prompt_cache object since v2.1.251, and Codeman's statusline exporter already received it, but StatusTelemetrySchema stripped the whole object, so Codeman never knew whether a session's conversation was still cached. Keep it and show it.

StatusTelemetrySchema now lists every documented scalar field null-tolerant (several are documented as possibly null, and the object gains fields across CLI versions, so a strict shape would 400 the post and blank the footer), while parsePromptCache normalizes only the subset Codeman stores, so a hostile localhost payload cannot bloat state. Session.promptCache rides toState with a change-only session:promptCache event, and the route broadcasts the stored object.

The Session Options (Respawn tab) readout shows warm-until or cold with the re-read stake, the cache hit rate, the last miss's causes, and, for Claude Code's own idle compaction (recache_tokens_if_cold null while expected_rebuilds rose), a "compacted at HH:MM" note that is never raised as an alert. setPromptCache stamps that on a new object rather than mutating the parsed report, so the stamp reaches the broadcast. Sessions without a statusline of their own also get a cache:until HH:MM / cache:cold group in the terminal footer. The last report is restored on a Codeman restart (like displayModel) so the readout is not blank until the pane's next render; the readout is time-aware, so a value whose expiry has passed reads as cold, not stale-warm. A launch without the exporter records why (collection off, workspace statusline, remote) so the row says the cause instead of "not reported yet" forever.

This is the sensor a later opt-in keep-warm would read, and the TTL it reports is the source of truth rather than the plan tier.

JD 3be03c6896 fix(uploads): show the server's reason when a prompt upload fails
A failed upload only showed a count, so a remote session's refused upload read as a mystery instead of a rule the user could act on. The server already returns the reason in its error envelope and the per-file error carries it, so I surface the first one in the toast. One reason is enough when a whole batch fails for the same cause.

JD ba36cc36d4 fix(uploads): list upload dirs bounded and async, and keep uploads inside the data dir collected
The hourly sweep called lstatSync and realpathSync on every live session's working directory, so a linked case on a mount that stopped answering blocked the event loop 30 s after boot and then every hour; the old sweep was fully async. uploadDirs() now probes the workspace with probePathKind() first and skips an unknown path without touching it, then uses fs.promises for the lstat and realpath. The sweep keeps the probe's stall cap; cleanupSession(), acting on one path at the user's request, passes pastCap and removes the directories with fs.rm.

Refusing an upload dir that sits strictly inside the data dir protected nothing (it only ever holds uploads, and a link is already excluded by lstat) while the route kept writing there, so uploads under a workspace like the ~/.codeman/app that install.sh clones were never swept and never removed. Only the two cases that matter stay refused: the upload dir being the data dir, or containing it.

Also: the ignore file's take-back after a failed write no longer replaces the error that caused it with its own, and the shared-dir test's header no longer names the fixed port it stopped using.

JD 7aecbd29df fix(mobile): local echo keeps painting when the viewport is parked above the bottom
Anything typed on a phone vanished whenever the terminal viewport was not scrolled fully to the bottom. Codeman parks the viewport a few rows above the bottom on purpose (scrollToLastNonEmptyLine after a tab switch, or after the keyboard drops and the terminal regrows, so trailing blank rows stay off screen), and the overlay hid itself on a bare viewportY !== baseY test even though the prompt and the cursor were on screen. The text was buffered the whole time and Enter still sent it, which is what made the keyboard look dead.

The overlay now gates on whether the cursor row is inside the viewport (promptRowInViewport), in both the render path and the scroll handler, so a deep scroll into history still hides it. A buffer without cursorY keeps the old bottom-only rule.

Two of Codeman's custom prompt finders made the matching mistake of treating cursorY, which xterm reports relative to baseY, as a screen row; with the gate relaxed that would have painted the text on the wrong line. Both go through cursorViewportRow now, and the Claude finder looks for its glyph from the cursor's screen row up to the top of the live screen only, since a parked viewport shows scrolled-off history whose old composer rows used to be unreachable and would anchor the overlay on the wrong line.

JD f12b5ac88b feat(uploads): write prompt uploads to a hidden, self-ignoring .codeman-uploads/ folder
A pasted image landed in <workspace>/.claude-images/, a name that belongs to another tool, in a folder nothing ignored, so it showed up in git status of every case that ever received a paste. Uploads now go to a flat <workspace>/.codeman-uploads/ that carries a .gitignore of `*` (written once, never over a file already there): in the workspace because that is the only path identical for a local agent and a container, flat because a nested .codeman/ is the data dir itself when the workspace is the home directory.

The directory names live in paste-image-gc.ts alone. The old folder receives nothing but stays readable for one release: the hourly sweep and the delete cleanup go through uploadDirs(), the image watcher's ignore filter reads the names. uploadDirs() lists only real directories, none that is, contains or sits inside the data dir, and nothing for a remote session, since both consumers delete. The route refuses a remote (SSH) session before touching disk: the file would land on this host under the remote path, where the agent cannot read it.

test/paste-image-dir-shared.test.ts binds port 0 and leaves the port guard's legacy list.

Decided in #553.

JD 17bc2f02e9 test(remote-wake): stop pinning the readiness budget to the millisecond
ensureAwake() hands the readiness poll the caller's budget minus the wake step's own elapsed time, so on a busy runner the poll gets 39999 ms and the two tests that expected exactly REMOTE_WAKE_REQUEST_READY_TIMEOUT_MS flaked (seen in CI on #550 and in a local gate run). Both now check the value sits within a second under the budget, the shape the host-scoped wake test already uses, which still fails if the 90 s session default leaks through.

JD 354c4641a9 fix(session-options): keep the external flag when App Settings resyncs the CLI catalog
_syncCliLaunchCatalog() rebuilt window.__codemanCliCatalog from /api/clis rows, which carry no capabilities, so after App Settings loaded the CLI list isExternalCliSession('claude') fell back to the kind check and Respawn and Ralph disappeared again until a reload. The rebuild now carries external over from the served catalog; a newly created custom CLI has no previous entry and falls back to kind, which is right since custom entries are external. Tests pin the resync and the openSessionOptions() call site, and the /api/clis comment names the page catalog as the deliberate capabilities exception.

JD 9230b53ccd docs(wiki): say npm test is the CI gate, as CONTRIBUTING.md does
The wiki's Contributing page still warned against bare npm test and pointed at test:ci, from before 947ff6f6 made npm test the CI gate and gave the browser, mobile and perf suites their own runners. It now matches .github/CONTRIBUTING.md and CLAUDE.md.

JD 66c8fef97f chore(uploads): remove the broken upload page and deprecate /api/screenshots
The tunnel Upload URL page (upload.html) has been broken since the response envelope landed in 458fb81c: it reads j.filename and j.files while the server answers { success, data: { filename } } and { success, data: { files } }, so every upload reported "Saved: undefined" and the recent list stayed empty. Nothing else reads ~/.codeman/screenshots/, and handing a file to an agent goes through POST /api/sessions/:id/paste-image into the session's own workspace, so the page, its Settings row, the suffix branch of the tunnel row helper (now folded into its one caller) and the Upload URL i18n key go.

The three /api/screenshots routes keep working unchanged and log one deprecation warning per process on first use, naming paste-image as the replacement. Per docs/versioning-policy.md they are removed in a later MAJOR, after at least one MINOR release that carries the warning; the docs, CLAUDE.md and the multi-user plan say so.

Static caching: with upload.html gone no HTML is served by @fastify/static any more (every page has its own no-cache route; on a built tree only the precompressed index.html.gz artifact is reachable, as application/gzip, and nothing requests it). The .html branch of setHeaders was therefore dead and goes with the test that fetched upload.html to reach it; a comment now says a new static HTML page needs its own route. The index.html no-cache assertion on the route stays.

JD 45492a3013 fix(session-options): keep Respawn and Ralph visible for Claude sessions
Since the CLI registry gave claude kind 'agent' (#476), isExternalCliRunMode() reads claude as an external CLI, so Session Options opened every Claude session on Summary and hid the Respawn and Ralph tabs and every Claude-only control (auto-resume, the respawn loop). The browser catalog now carries the registry's capabilities.external, the flag the server's isExternalCliMode() already reads, and Session Options asks that instead. run() keeps isExternalCliRunMode(): choosing a launch path is a different question, and custom agents rely on it.

JD 612c69d57a fix(files): decode markdown refs, scope links to the preview session, drop name= from the sanitizer
Review follow-up on #503. marked percent-encodes link and image destinations, and the rebase pass encoded them a second time, so a space or a CJK character in a file name made file-raw look for a file literally named my%20image.png; refs are now decoded once (a malformed escape is kept as written) and stripped of ?query along with #fragment. Root-relative refs resolve from the workspace root as on GitHub instead of falling through as Codeman URLs. Rebased links carry the preview's own session id and the response-viewer delegate prefers it, so a document opened from another session's attachment card opens its links in that workspace rather than the active tab's.

The sanitizer no longer allows name=: marked never emits it, and <img name="app"> made document.app that image, which every inline onclick="app.…()" handler resolves before the global, so one rendered README broke every viewer button until a reload. Adds the zh-CN strings for the three toolbar titles.

JD 5e27043bf7 feat(files): render markdown in the File Viewer, with Lines/Wrap toggles
Clicking a .md in the Files panel showed wrapped source with an Edit
pencil and no way to see it rendered, although marked + DOMPurify were
already on the page for the Response Viewer. The viewer now renders
.md/.markdown through that same pipeline (one parser, one click
delegate) with an MD pill back to source, and the plain-text view gains
Lines (CSS-counter gutter) and Wrap toggles. All three persist per device
in their own localStorage keys.

- Relative images are rebased onto the workspace-confined file-raw route
under the document's directory, built inside a <template> so no fetch
fires before the rewrite; a failed load degrades to alt text. Relative
links become a.rv-path so the existing delegate opens them in the
viewer; fragment and http(s) links are untouched.
- The rendered container carries data-i18n-skip so the translator does
  not rewrite the document's prose.
- Markdown fetches the route's 10000-line ceiling; other text keeps 500.
- avif renders inline (file-content image set, file-raw MIME map), and
avif/ico printed paths open the viewer instead of tailing bytes. .md
deliberately stays with the tail viewer for printed paths.

JD 1da2fa2529 fix(terminal): only forward scroll to Claude while it tracks the mouse
Claude 2.1.280 renders inline by default: no alt screen, no mouse tracking, transcript in real scrollback. The version-only gate still sent every wheel tick and touch swipe as SGR reports, which Claude ignores, so scrolling a Claude session was dead while codex (routed locally) worked. Gate forwarding on the server-recorded cliMouseTracking flag, which fullscreen mode (CLAUDE_CODE_NO_FLICKER=1) sets.

JD c367b12f77 fix(mobile): lift the iOS Safari toolbar by the measured chrome overlap, not 100vh minus the visual height
The phone block lifted the toolbar (and padded .main) by (100vh - --app-height) on iOS Safari to clear a bottom bar that position: fixed elements were assumed to sit behind. On iPhone Safari fixed elements already stop above the bar, and 100vh is the large viewport with the bar collapsed while --app-height is the visual viewport with it expanded, so the expression measures the bar's collapsible height and shows up as an empty band between the toolbar and the bar whenever the bar is expanded. The terminal was padded by the same amount.

The lift is now --chrome-overlap, set in updateAppHeight() as innerHeight minus the visual viewport height: the distance the layout viewport that anchors fixed elements extends past the visible area. That is 0 on iPhone Safari, so the toolbar meets the bar, and it is the overlap itself on any browser where fixed elements really do land behind the chrome, so those keep the lift. The keyboard-visible rules, which already override the toolbar offset, are unchanged.

JD c087d0ae4d fix(mobile): raise the phone breakpoint from 430px to 600px
The phone tier stopped at innerWidth < 430 and @media (max-width: 430px), so every current large phone landed in the tablet layout: the 430pt iPhone 14 Pro Max, 15 Plus, 15 Pro Max and 16 Plus, the 440pt iPhone 16 Pro Max and 17 Pro Max, Pixel 6 Pro, 7 Pro and OnePlus 12 Pro, the 448pt Pixel 8 Pro and 9 Pro XL, and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 cover screen at 460. On those devices the header icon row replaced the session pill, the toolbar kept the desktop Run Shell button instead of Enter and the mic, the keyboard accessory bar could never become visible because its .visible rule lives inside the phone block, and the toolbar jumped to the top of the page when the keyboard opened.

The new cutoff is 600, the line test/mobile/devices.ts already draws between large phones (430-599) and small tablets (600-767). No physical device sits between 480 and 600, but a phone zoomed out one or two steps in Safari does: a 440pt iPhone at 85% or 75% page zoom reports 518px or 587px and still needs the phone controls, which a 480 cutoff would have taken away. The phone block is max-width: 599px and the tablet block starts at min-width: 600px, so a 600px device is a tablet in CSS and in getDeviceType() alike instead of straddling the boundary the way 430pt phones did.

The number changes everywhere it is encoded: JS, CSS, comments, CLAUDE.md, the CI tests that pin the phone block, and the test:mobile helpers. Measurement history that names 430px stays as written.
