Codeman maintainer 8e6abf4bfd Merge pull request #592: feat(cli-registry): GitHub Copilot CLI as a run mode
GitHub Copilot CLI (`copilot`) becomes a run mode: Run menu, welcome
screen, cron and CLI management once it is installed, tmux-backed like
the other agent CLIs, working/idle and the model read off its footer,
launch options through `copilotConfig` (model, resume, continue, the
multi-user-clamped allowAll), Custom Model Endpoints via Copilot's BYOK
variables, MCP sync of its mcp-config.json, a status probe, and the
`codeman agent` verbs (spawn waits for its composer, read returns its
last answer).

The plan-usage quota row that earlier rounds carried was split out on
review and is not part of this merge.

Merge-time commits on top: the wider COPILOT_* clamp and the zh-CN
README rows (maintainer), the Docker sign-in docs, divider rows inside
an answer kept by `agent read`, route tests for the screen-read
last-response branch, and doc drift (Past Sessions, wheelForward JSDoc,
COPILOT_/OMP_ in the env prefix lists).

Verified before merge on Copilot CLI 1.0.98: injected keystrokes,
bracketed paste and Enter reach the TUI in tmux (github/copilot-cli#4180
does not reproduce), a shell tool call completes inside tmux (#4223 does
not reproduce), and a session driven through this branch answered over
send-and-wait.

Devvyn 76479fdc96 feat(sessions): make pinning every tab name an opt-in setting
Add pinCliSessionName (synced, default OFF), re-read at each spawn and respawn.
Off keeps the #457 behaviour; on pins every non-blank tab name as --name.
Update the docs, JSDoc and changeset that stated the old rule.

Devvyn c5de8383e7 feat(cli-registry): GitHub Copilot CLI as a run mode
Copilot (`copilot`, npm @github/copilot) as a stock CLI entry with the same launch options as the other agent CLIs: model (--model), resume (--resume), continue (--continue) and allow-all (--yolo, clamped off for non-granted multi-user owners). Adds a resolver and GET /api/copilot/status probe, the agent-image package, Run-menu/mobile/logo entries, skill docs and tests.

Codeman maintainer de99a6d57a docs: tighten the inbox, push and idle-detection wording
Follow-up to the previous commit, after a fact check against the code.

- Answer surfaces: the header bell answers Claude prompts, the phone
strip only Claude dialogs (and only with the inbox on), and push
Approve/Deny only a Claude permission prompt (PUSH_EVENT_MAP gives
actions to permission_prompt alone). README, its Chinese mirror, the
notifications page and the phone guide now say so.
- Antigravity and Grok Build: after the 3 s launch settle, idle is armed
only by Claude's prompt marker and working only by a braille spinner,
so "idle when output stops changing" was wrong. The wiki, the grok
guide and the API reference now call their status unreliable.
- DeepSeek Harness: its idle and working reports become stop and
agent_working, which drive respawn, waits and the inbox but not the
session's own working/idle display. Keeping Agents Running says that,
and that the respawn path needs the status bridge.
- The wait section of the API reference no longer calls exit the only
dependable signal for screen-checked modes; the inbox page names how
Codex and DeepSeek items clear; Core Concepts and Hooks And
Integrations no longer call DeepSeek "the one" exception; Agent CLIs
notes that Codex dialogs still raise the red alert; the inbox design
  doc notes the alert-only items.
- Skill: stop and blocked list deepseek, and SKILL.md no longer says
codex has neither a transcript nor blocked. Mirrored with
  scripts/sync-plugin.mjs.

Codeman maintainer b4aed4e485 fix(release): stamp the codeman skill preamble 1.42.0
#642 stamped the preamble with the version it expected to ship in, 1.41.2. The release is 1.42.0, so the stamp would name a version that never existed. Any new value makes cached preambles from the broken version stale, which is what the stamp is for.

Codeman maintainer c76600315e Merge pull request #624 from Ark0N/feat/codex-blocked-detection
feat(codex): raise codex approval, question and trust dialogs as BLOCKED

Conflict resolved against #634 in src/session.ts _probePaneWorking():
#624's assignment (a dialog on screen is never work) is kept, and #634's
trust-dialog verdict block (log the hold once, remember the reading)
follows it, before _readWatching().

Codeman maintainer 4eef417da6 fix(skill): keep the §0 bootstrap intact when Claude Code loads the skill with arguments
Claude Code rewrites a skill body that it loads with arguments: every bare
$1, $2 ... becomes the matching word of the request (0-based). Nine lines of
the agent preamble used bare positional parameters, so an agent that pasted
the §0 bootstrap (every session without a pre-seeded preamble: Agent Skill
injection off, the default, or a remote or Docker session) wrote helpers
that queried session "5" with timeout=claude and looked up "5=" instead of
CODEMAN_PASSWORD= in the .env, sending every call unauthenticated.

- $1/$2 -> ${1}/${2} in preamble.sh and the identical §0 heredoc in
SKILL.md; same bash, and Claude Code's pattern (\$\d+(?!\w)) skips it.
- CODEMAN_PREAMBLE 1.33.4 -> 1.41.2, so a cache file written by the broken
bootstrap (which carries the old stamp) is rewritten on the next run.
- A comment at the top of the preamble states the rule.
- New test: Claude Code 2.1.300's substitution applied to SKILL.md with
sample arguments must leave the body, and the pasted heredoc, unchanged.
It fails on the old file with the exact sessions/5 and timeout=claude lines.
- plugins/codeman re-synced; patch changeset.

Verified with real Claude Code 2.1.300 (the delivered heredoc is now
byte-identical to preamble.sh; before, 9 lines differed) and by running the
pasted helpers against a local recording server.

Codeman maintainer 71a9cc74c1 docs(codex): README and the skill's blocked-worker recipe know codex blocks
The README (both languages) still said only claude and deepseek sessions
emit `blocked` and that codex accepts only idle, working and exit, and the
skill's Flow 5 called `blocked` claude-mode only. Codex now raises it from
its screen-read dialogs; the recipe says to watch it with
`until=blocked, exit` (codex has no `stop`) and to answer in the terminal.
The plugin mirror is regenerated with scripts/sync-plugin.mjs.

Codeman maintainer 9b3030f9a1 docs(codex): blocked dialogs read off the screen
Document what the two previous commits changed for users and for whoever
adds the field to another CLI:

- docs/cli-registry.md: the `blockedLine`/`blockedLines` fields, how codex's
pattern was measured, and the three rules any declaring CLI keeps (end on
  chrome only the CLI draws, alert only; raise on one reading, clear on two;
  hooks win).
- docs/architecture-invariants.md: a "Screen-read blocked dialogs (codex)"
entry, plus the wait-signal, idle-detection, watching and Approvals Inbox
  entries it changes.
- docs/api-reference.md, docs/extending-codeman.md and the wiki (Agent CLIs,
Notifications and Approvals, Hooks, HTTP API, Driving Codeman From An
Agent): `blocked` now fires for codex, `stop` still does not, codex
approvals are alert-only cards answered in the terminal.
- CLAUDE.md: `stop` and `blocked` are no longer one rule, the config-regex
list gains `blockedLine`, and a short pointer that a codex dialog match is
  only ever an alert.
- The codeman skill's signal table and verbs note, mirrored into
  plugins/codeman by scripts/sync-plugin.mjs.

Codeman maintainer ef071ed485 feat(agent-skill): give the codeman skill to every agent CLI, not just Claude
The agent skill only reached Claude Code: injection wrote
.claude/skills/codeman, which no other CLI reads, and the per-session
preamble was seeded for claude alone. A Codex, Gemini, OpenCode,
Antigravity, Grok, DeepSeek or OMP session inside Codeman never learned it
could start and drive workers.

- Registry field capabilities.agentSkillDir (a closed enum, since
clis.json can set it and it decides where the server writes) names the
skills directory each CLI scans. Claude keeps .claude/skills; those seven
CLIs get the same skill in <case>/.agents/skills/codeman (each measured to
scan it; Claude Code does not, so it never sees two copies). pi gets none:
a project skill makes pi ask "Trust project folder?" at startup.
- The preamble is seeded for every local session whose CLI takes the
skill; nothing in it is claude-specific.
- The skill text is CLI-neutral and names the two CLI-side failures to
report instead of retrying: a sandbox that blocks loopback (Codex's
default), and commands that do not carry this session's environment
(Codex 0.162 runs them in a shared app-server daemon).
- POST /api/sessions injects after the launch pre-flight, so a CLI that
cannot start leaves nothing in the workspace.
- codeman skill install gains --mode; uninstall --case removes the copy
from every directory the registry can write.
- The settings toggle moves to Agents & CLIs > All agent CLIs.

RandalixandClaude Opus 5.5 0481db569d feat(cli): add codeman agent — session-to-session verbs for every CLI mode
The agent skill teaches the session verbs to claude only (Codeman seeds its
preamble for local claude sessions). An opencode, codex, pi or gemini agent has
the same environment — CODEMAN_MUX, CODEMAN_SESSION_ID and CODEMAN_API_URL are
exported into every pane — and nothing that teaches it the verbs, so
`codeman agent ls|spawn|send|wait|read|interrupt|rm` packages them as commands.

It is a client of the server, like `codeman tui`, and stays out of
`codeman session` (which drives the in-process SessionManager). No new route and
no second transport: everything goes through CODEMAN_API_URL, so auth,
ownership and the per-session waiter cap apply unchanged. Credentials and the
Basic header come from src/codeman-credentials.ts, in the same order attach and
the TUI use.

Invariants, each in test/cli-agent.test.ts:
- Refuses outside a Codeman session (CODEMAN_MUX=1 + CODEMAN_API_URL); never
  guesses a URL.
- `send` takes the prompt as ONE argument (an unquoted multi-line `$(…)` would
otherwise be split by the shell and re-joined into one line), transmits
printable text plus Enter only, and refuses multi-line input loudly instead of
letting sendInput weld the lines. No resend loop of its own: the server's
SubmitVerifier owns the swallowed-Enter case. ESC exists only as `interrupt`,
  which never appends Enter.
- `rm` fails closed: empty id, an unprovable self id, or a prefix match in
  either direction refuses.
- Nothing mode-shaped in the CLI: the readiness mark `spawn` waits for comes
from the registry (new `capabilities.composerReadyMark`: claude's composer
  hint `shift+tab`, deepseek's `❯`), `read` relies on the route's own answer
dispatch, and a `stop`/`blocked` the session cannot fire is the server's 400,
  passed through. A `/wait` timeout is a 200 with `timedOut`: exit 2 with a
neutral line, not an error. A worker that dies during spawn's readiness wait
is exit 3, like every other wait.
- `X-Codeman-Agent-Origin` rides only spawn's quick-start, the one request that
may create a case directory; every other verb leaves it off. Server-side,
  test/routes/agent-case-marker-routes.test.ts pins that a POST /api/sessions on
an existing workingDir is never labelled, header or not, and that quick-start
labels only a directory it creates.

Codeman maintainer 88f5a43a9f fix(cases): bounded path probe landing fixes (#516)
- hooks-config: a probe the bulk cap refused gets ONE bounded re-probe past the
cap (probeBeforeTouching), and whatever is still unknown is skipped. The
per-spawn hook and statusLine helpers used to fall back to an unbounded
lstat/readFile there, which on a dead workspace never settled and could take
the last threadpool workers (and hang the boot hook sweep). New test: cap
engaged, stat/lstat/readFile hanging on two more paths; both helpers return.
- describeUnknownPath()/unknownPathReason(): POST /api/sessions, quick-start and
GET /api/cases/:name now say a folder was not checked (other mounts are still
not answering) instead of blaming a healthy folder at the stall ceiling.
  errorCodes unchanged.
- #535 x #516: Create in a custom folder probes the parent through the bounded
probe before realpath/stat/lstat/readdir touch it; an unknown parent is 422
OPERATION_FAILED (UNREACHABLE) within the probe timeout. New test.
- Docs: MAX_STALLED default is 2 (follows UV_THREADPOOL_SIZE), CaseInfo
.unreachable covers a refused probe, the boot sweep skips an unanswering
workspace, a CLAUDE.md gotcha for bounded probes, verbs.md documents the 422
(plugin mirror synced), api-reference documents the custom-folder 422.
- Tests: the launcher case-lookup describe is no longer nested in the Grok
block, and the cap-below-ceiling test no longer depends on an inherited
  UV_THREADPOOL_SIZE / CODEMAN_PATH_PROBE_MAX_STALLED.

Codeman maintainer 7064b3c1d5 feat(skill): CODEMAN_WORKER_ADVISOR gives spawned claude workers an advisor
spawn_worker builds its quick-start body itself ({caseName, mode,
parentSessionId}), so an agent driving the skill had no way to give a worker
the advisor without hand-building the call and losing the readiness ladder,
hooks vetting and trust-dialog fallback. Setting CODEMAN_WORKER_ADVISOR
(fable / opus / sonnet) now adds `advisorModel` for every claude worker that
spawn_worker or spawn_workers starts; other modes ignore it.

A refused value fails the spawn with the server's INVALID_INPUT message. A
server without advisor support drops the field silently (the schema is not
strict), so spawn_worker reads it back and says so on stderr.

The preamble changed, so CODEMAN_PREAMBLE is bumped to 1.33.4 and stale
cached copies are rewritten instead of silently ignoring the variable.
SKILL.md's heredoc and the plugin mirror are synced.

Michael GrundbergandClaude Opus 5.5 3df113fc54 fix(sessions): keep a session's model through recovery, refuse it off claude
SessionState now carries the model a session launched with, and both
recovery constructors (mux recovery and reboot restore) pass it back, so a
recovered session relaunches on the same --model rather than the account
default. A top-level `model` sent with any other CLI is refused, since
those take their model in their own config object, and an empty string
means no per-session model, as it does for modelOverride.

CLAUDE.md now describes both routes for a Claude model. The tests pin
which of `model` and `modelOverride` reaches the launch and which the
case file, and that a model opening with a dash renders as --model's value.

Michael GrundbergandClaude Opus 5.5 4123d229f4 feat(sessions): accept a per-session Claude model on POST /api/sessions
POST /api/sessions takes an optional `model`, and a Claude session
launches with `claude --model <id>`. It wins over the app-wide default
model and writes nothing to disk, unlike `modelOverride`, which stays as
it is and still writes the case's .claude/settings.local.json.

69a71287e6 fix(sessions): stop pinning the w1-myapp placeholder as Claude's /resume title (#457)
* fix(sessions): stop pinning the w1-myapp placeholder as Claude's /resume title

Local claude spawns passed the tab name as `--name`. That flag is not only the
cross-session peer name: it is also the prompt-box label, the `/resume` picker
entry and the terminal title, and a pinned title stops Claude generating its own
(`customTitle ?? aiTitle`). So every conversation of a case was listed in
`/resume` as the same `w1-myapp`, and none of them got a generated title. On one
workspace, 34 of 34 conversations spawned with `--name` had no ai-title, while
every conversation spawned without it had one.

Only a name the user chose is pinned now: `Session.cliPinnedName` is the name
when `nameSource === 'manual'`, carried to the builders as a separate `cliName`
so the tab/mux name is untouched. Placeholder and auto names let Claude title
the conversation again.

A rename in Codeman also reaches `/resume`: the new name is appended to the
conversation's transcript as the `custom-title` row `/rename` writes (never
creating the file, never writing an empty title). For a pane spawned without
`--name` this holds immediately; a pane spawned with one re-appends its own
title each turn, so there the new name holds from the next spawn.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(sessions): skip no-op renames and docker sessions when syncing the /resume title

A same-name PUT (the Session Options field saves on blur and recomposes the
unchanged placeholder) no longer flips nameSource to manual or appends a
custom-title row, and docker sessions skip the host transcript scan since their
transcript lives in the container. The skill pages no longer use a w<N>- name
as the peer-name example, and the changeset notes the re-append caveat.

Codeman maintainer a0298cf2b1 fix(skill): keep the re-wait open while sendwait works the composer
The first shape of the Enter loop read the composer BETWEEN two short waits,
and tested `wait.ended` (the session exiting) where it meant `timedOut`. A
`stop` that fired while no wait was open was lost, since signals have no
history, and a re-wait that had already resolved on `stop` fell through into
another wait that could never see the edge again: measured twice, the answer
was on screen and sendwait ran its whole 580 s slice anyway.

The long re-wait (a tagged duplicate of the original frame) is now registered
first and kept open in the background for the rest of the call; the loop reads
the composer and re-sends Enter beside it, stops when the prompt has left or
the wait's response has landed, then returns that response. Measured: the
stranded prompt got one extra Enter and sendwait returned on `stop` at 36 s.

Codeman maintainer 19ffe9b7a8 fix(input): make sure a prompt sent through the API actually leaves the composer
Claude Code 2.1.277 takes typed text the moment its composer paints but
ignores Enter for the first 30 to 50 seconds after it (measured 2026-09-19
through the input route: an Enter at 28 s stranded the prompt, one at 51 s
submitted it). The text+Enter pair `sendInput` sends 50 ms apart therefore
left every programmatic prompt sitting unsent, and every waiter burned its
timeout on a turn that never started.

Server: `SubmitVerifier` (session-submit-verifier.ts), armed from
`writeViaMux` for every mux write that carried a carriage return, reads the
pane on a 2 s to 60 s schedule and re-sends Enter only while the last
composer line (the CLI's own prompt glyph) still holds the head of what was
sent. An empty composer, other text, or no composer line at all ends it; a
newer write replaces the schedule.

Skill: `sendwait` gets the same loop (`_composer_text`, no-break space
stripped by its bytes for BSD sed) for servers that predate this, and the
preamble version moves to 1.30.1 so seeded agents pick up the fresh copy.
SKILL.md's heredoc and the plugin mirror are regenerated.

* chore: version packages

* chore: sync the CLAUDE.md version line to 1.30.0

The changesets bot does not touch this line, and pushing it to master
after merging the version PR starts a second Release run that has raced
the first before. Riding the bot's own branch keeps it to one push.

Codeman maintainer c1b4b440f4 chore(plugin): add npm run check:plugin with explicit manifest paths
Runs the mirror/version drift check and both strict validations. The paths
are spelled out because the documented pair ended in a bare `.` that reads as
a full stop when copied out of prose, which surfaced as `missing required
argument 'path'` on first use. Needs the `claude` CLI, so it is a local check
rather than a CI step.

Codeman maintainer fc098aaab2 docs(plugin): say to pick one install route, since plugin and user-level skill list twice
Measured with both installed: a fresh Claude Code lists `codeman` (the
user-level or per-case copy) and `codeman:codeman` (the plugin). Neither
shadows the other and both work, so this is noise rather than breakage, but
the README, the wiki and the plugin README now say to choose one.

Codeman maintainer 49ab8bc2f1 fix(plugin): move the Claude Code plugin into plugins/codeman so an install no longer runs npm install
With the repo root as the plugin root, `claude plugin install codeman@codeman`
copied the whole checkout into its cache and, because that root carries a
package.json, ran an npm install there: 832 MB, 511 packages and this repo's
postinstall build on every installer's machine (measured from a clean worktree
of the previous commit). A plugin root must be a directory without one.

The plugin is now `plugins/codeman/`: its manifest, a README, and a MIRROR of
`skills/codeman/`. A mirror rather than a symlink because the install copies
the plugin directory and a link pointing outside it would dangle; a mirror
rather than the source because every install path, injector and doc already
names `skills/codeman/`. `scripts/sync-plugin.mjs` (replacing
sync-plugin-version.mjs) mirrors the skill and syncs both manifest versions
inside `version-packages`; `test/plugin-manifest.test.ts` pins byte-identity,
the versions, the absence of a package.json in the plugin root and that the
repo root `.claude-plugin/` holds only the marketplace manifest.

`claude plugin validate --strict` now passes for both the plugin and the repo
root. Install commands are unchanged.
